FED Talks

It's the first episode of the new year, and we're kicking 2024 off with a movie and mental health check-in. EJ gets vulnerable and also watches The Iron Claw. In the ongoing survey of Muppet movies, Muppet Treasure Island proves to be a disappointment and the Jason Statham Film Festival entry The Pink Panther (2006) has almost no Jason Statham in it.

Once again we're wrapping up the year with North America's most trusted culture critic, Hayley Leier (ADHD-DVD)! We're talking about the best TV shows of the year - Succession, Barry, Poker Face, Taskmaster, and so many more. It's a wide-ranging talk with somebody who spends most of her podcasting time talking about movies. TV is good and we're pumped about it!

We're also pumped about our awesome sponsor teesbysummer.com!

Happy Holidays! As is our tradition, this year we're celebrating the season with an original story. This year, the smartest barbarian fights Krampus. Plus.... Muppets!

This week, EJ talks about how great Andre Braugher was. So great. Then there's a look at Godzilla Minus One and The Boy and the Heron. Finally, the Jason Statham Film Festival settles in with Chaos, a movie that exists and does not engender any strong feelings.

EJ celebrates his favorite guy's 74th birthday by talking about his acting career, eventually picking his top five Tom Waits performances. Is one of them Ultra City Smiths? You know it is! Also, the Franchise Report looks at the Great Muppet Caper, a perfect movie.

This week, EJ talks about Scott Pilgrim, The Curse, and The Holdovers. The Franchise Report wraps up Darkman and kicks off The Muppets, and man does EJ love those guys. Finally, the Jason Statham Film Festival takes a look at Revolver, a movie that is pretty good but also completely frustrating.

It's the most magical time of the year! Cranksgiving, the only Jason Statham-themed holiday. After recording commentary episodes for both movies, this year we're watching Crank 2 and playing a drinking game. It gets sloppy and possibly sad. Check it out! It might not work as a commentary track because EJ accidentally rewinds at one point and he has to pause to use the restroom, but it's still fun!

Our wonder sponsor teesbysummer.com is not to blame for any of this.

Happy Cranksgiving!

It's all movies this week as EJ likes The Marvels quite a bit and geeks out over the Metalocalypse finale. The Franchise Report burns through 2/3 of the Darkman series in one go, and the Jason Statham Film Festival looks at London, maybe the least movie a movie can legally be.

Rachel Hadaway (Rachel's Chart Chat on the People are the Enemy podcast) is back for another Transporter movie. This time, it's Transporter 2 which finds Frank Martin with a legitimate job and yet, he still has to absolutely wreck some dudes. It's one of the best so far of the Jason Statham Film Festival! Additionally, beefs are squashed and there are minor spoilers for Collateral (streaming on American Netflix). This one is silly and the movie is awesome!

Also awesome? Our sponsor teesbysummer.com!

It's almost all movie talk this week as EJ watches Freelance, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Cellular. He taps out on the Evil Dead remake because he's too easily frightened. Plus, a few words about Matthew Perry and Richard Moll.
